Ericsson Presents Global 5G Leadership to depa at MWC 2023 in Barcelona

- Ericsson meets with depa’s management team at the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event – Mobile World Congress 2023.

Ericsson’s commitment to bringing the latest 5G technologies to Thailand and nurturing the country’s 5G eco-system development was on display this week at the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event – Mobile World Congress 2023.

At the global event in Barcelona, Ericsson welcomed the management team of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) to the Ericsson Hall and took them on a tour of the 5G technologies and use cases that can be leveraged for the benefit of Thailand.

During the visit, Igor Maurell, Head of Ericsson Thailand, discussed Ericsson’s 5G vision with Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of depa, and his team. The depa delegation explored Ericsson demonstrations such as the Future Technology Experience, Cloud Gaming Connected Enterprise Solutions and the Enterprise Ecosystem.

“5G can open up limitless possibilities for Thailand including transforming enterprises, delivering exceptional consumer experiences and enabling the country to grow sustainably, in support of the Thailand 4.0 vision,” Igor said.

“We are pleased to be collaborating with depa to accelerate Thailand’s transformation to a digital economy and during our joint discussions at Mobile World Congress we re-iterated Ericsson’s commitment to bringing the company’s state-of-the-art technology and solutions together with our global experience and expertise to Thailand.”

Ericsson Thailand and depa signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate towards driving 5G based digital transformation in Thailand. As part of the MoU, both parties will establish an innovation lab in depa’s Thailand Digital Valley in Chonburi province that will serve as a 5G testbed and service center for trials of new wireless and network technologies, spectrum sharing, as well as new applications and services in Thailand.

Ericsson is a global 5G leader and today powers 143 live 5G networks in 62 countries with 21 live 5G standalone networks across the world.

ระหว่างการเยี่ยมชม มร. อิกอร์ มอเรล ประธานบริษัท อีริคสัน ประเทศไทย ได้แสดงวิสัยทัศน์ 5G ของอีริคสัน กับ ผศ.ดร.ณัฐพล นิมมานพัชรินทร์ ผู้อำนวยการใหญ่ สำนักงานส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัล หรือ ดีป้า และทีมงาน โดยคณะผู้แทนจากดีป้าได้ให้ความสนใจและชมการสาธิตเทคโนโลยีของอีริคสันมากมาย อาทิ Future Technology Experience โซลูชันของ Cloud Gaming Connected Enterprise และ Enterprise Ecosystem

อีริคสัน ประเทศไทย และ ดีป้า ได้ลงนามในบันทึกข้อตกลงความร่วมมือเพื่อร่วมกันขับเคลื่อนการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางดิจิทัลโดยใช้เครือข่าย 5G ในประเทศไทย ส่วนหนึ่งในบันทึกข้อตกลงความร่วมมือนี้ยังระบุว่า อีริคสันและดีป้าจะจัดตั้งห้องปฏิบัติการด้านนวัตกรรมใน Thailand Digital Valley ของดีป้าในจังหวัดชลบุรี เพื่อทำหน้าที่เป็นศูนย์ทดสอบเครือข่าย 5G และศูนย์บริการสำหรับการทดสอบเทคโนโลยีเครือข่ายไร้สายและเครือข่ายใหม่ ๆ การแบ่งปันคลื่นความถี่ (Spectrum Sharing) ตลอดจนการพัฒนาแอปพลิเคชันและบริการดิจิทัลใหม่ ๆ ในประเทศไทย

Ericsson launches Networks solutions aimed at Net Zero emissions during MWC 2023

- A new range of 10 radios led by triple-band Radio 4485, which is 53 percent lighter than comparable products. Also launching new mobile transport and software solutions
- Industry-first, 600MHz Massive MIMO radio with Ericsson-unique Interference Sensing software that adds up to 40 percent more capacity with portfolio-wide hardware support
- Ericsson plans to offer AIR 6419 and Radio 4490 solutions in the Thai market to deliver the ultimate network efficiency for both consumers and enterprises.

Ericsson’s (NASDAQ: ERIC) leadership in supporting service providers’ Net Zero ambitions, while meeting market demands for higher 5G capacity and revenue growth, has taken a major step forward with the launch of an enhanced RAN and Transport portfolio at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona, Spain.

More than 10 new Ericsson solutions will cut carbon emissions and site footprint, increase energy performance, and boost network capacity. The full range of new remote radios for 4G and 5G capacity is led by the triple-band Radio 4485 for FDD (frequency-division duplexing), which is 53 percent lighter and consumes about 22 percent less energy than comparable products. New dual and single-band radios have also been launched.

Ericsson has also introduced a new range of wideband Massive MIMO radios – spearheaded by the industry-first, ultra-wideband AIR 6476 – which provides 600MHz instantaneous bandwidth that doubles capacity without additional antenna footprint and enhances user experience.

Software is in the spotlight as well with new features such as Interference Sensing, which optimizes mid-band Massive MIMO performance by minimizing inter-cell interference and increasing network capacity by up to 40 percent.

The new solutions will be on show in Ericsson’s booth in Hall 2 at the Fira Gran Via during MWC Barcelona 2023 from February 27 to March 2. The portfolio additions will be commercially available during 2023 and Q1, 2024.

In Thailand Ericsson will market its Massive MIMO, AIR 6419 B41 and Radio 4490 B1/B3 solutions to deliver the ultimate network efficiency for both consumers and enterprises.

“With our strong global 5G presence and high-performance solutions, we are powering the network infrastructure in Thailand to deliver the best customer experience for consumers and become the best platform for key stakeholders in the enterprise segment to digitalize their business operations at a very competitive cost,” said Igor Maurell, Head of Ericsson Thailand.

Ericsson recently tested the latest generation product of Massive MIMO, AIR 6419 B41 solution on 2600-MHz spectrums and the result shows the product as delivering an excellent performance with less maintenance requirement due to its passive cooling system.

The company is also undergoing a testing of its Radio 4490 B1/B3 products on 2100- and 1800-MHz dual bands. The solution is the mainstream radio for high-density urban areas, consuming 25% less power and weighing 25% lower compared to the previous product. Radio 4490 also requires less maintenance with its passive cooling system. The testing is expected to be completed by the end of February 2023.

นอกจากนี้ซอฟต์แวร์ยังได้รับความสนใจในงานนี้ด้วยคุณสมบัติใหม่ ๆ ที่โดดเด่น เช่น การตรวจจับสัญญาณรบกวนช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการทำงานของ Massive MIMO ช่วงย่านความถี่ระดับกลาง โดยลดการรบกวนสัญญาณระหว่างเซลล์พร้อมเพิ่มความจุเครือข่ายสูงสุดถึง 40%

โซลูชันใหม่จะจัดแสดงที่บูธของอีริคสันที่งาน MWC Barcelona 2023, Hall 2 ที่ Fira Gran Via ตั้งแต่วันที่ 27 กุมภาพันธ์ถึง 2 มีนาคม พอร์ตโฟลิโอเพิ่มเติมต่าง ๆ จะเริ่มวางจำหน่ายเชิงพาณิชย์ในปีนี้และไตรมาสที่ 1 ปี ค.ศ.2024

สำหรับในประเทศไทย อีริคสันจะทำการตลาดโซลูชั่น Massive MIMO, AIR 6419 B41 และ Radio 4490 B1/B3 เพื่อส่งมอบประสิทธิภาพเครือข่ายขั้นสูงสุดสำหรับทั้งผู้บริโภคและองค์กรธุรกิจ

Manav Kamboj appointed as Managing Director, Fintech, in addition to his current role of Chief Technology Officer at PropertyGuru Group

Manav Kamboj appointed as Managing Director, Fintech, in addition to his current role of Chief Technology Officer at PropertyGuru Group

PropertyGuru Group Limited (NYSE: PGRU) (“PropertyGuru” or “the Group”), Southeast Asia’s leading[4], property technology (“PropTech”) company today announced that Manav Kamboj, the Chief Technology Officer of PropertyGuru Group will assume leadership of the PropertyGuru Fintech business as the Managing Director (MD) with immediate effect.

PropertyGuru ventured into fintech with the launch of PropertyGuru Finance in 2020 in Singapore and as of Q3 2022, the mortgage business had brokered over S$3 billion in homes loans. Manav will lead the business, leveraging technology, data, and analytics to drive further digitisation of the home loan process and operational excellence. He has been working closely with PropertyGuru Fintech team since its inception, focusing on its technology systems and infrastructure and brings with him these insights to his new role.

Speaking about the appointment, Hari V Krishnan, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, PropertyGuru Group said, “Manav brings a strong skillset in technology and experience in financial services, combined with deep understanding of our markets and customer needs. This will help in targeting our Fintech ambitions starting with PropertyGuru Finance which is digitising the home loan process in Singapore. I wish him the very best for this new additional role.”

Manav joined PropertyGuru Group as CTO in 2017 and since then has grown the technology team to double its size. As the CTO, he leads a distributed team of engineers, software developers and data scientists who deliver technology solutions to address the ever-changing needs of home seekers, real estate agents and property developers across the region. Under his leadership, PropertyGuru Group was recently certified ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management System (#ISMS). ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is the international standard for information security. He also spearheaded the inauguration of PropertyGuru Group’s technology Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, India. The inauguration of the centre marks the Group’s sixth country office (talent-only), alongside offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. This CoE is a significant step to scale the technology capability and capacity to drive PropertyGuru’s mission to help property seekers, sellers and owners make confident property decisions, beyond ‘property search’.

He has more than two decades of extensive experience in the consumer internet industry across eCommerce, mobile applications and technology consulting. On top of his extensive experience in technology, Manav spent more than 7 years in retail banking, leading cross-functional teams in retail lending, product management and customer acquisition strategy.
